Earlier today, someone told me I might not attract attention by being original.
I’m grateful the conversation continued, and I was able to understand they said that out of care, and not necessarily pessimism.
..
The truth is, if it wasn’t for this journey, I was very happy with zero attention, and that’s my sweetest spot.
But I realized that some things are bigger than us, and sometimes it’s generous to stay outside our comfort zone.
Because that’s where others are. Others who can benefit from what we already have.
That said, unless you’re ice cream (which isn’t even for everybody), you’re not for everyone.
I’m starting to see that “showing up” isn’t a one-time thing. You start getting clients, then you can safely go back to ghost mode. Nope.
Not if you want to build something sustainable.
So with that in mind, it’s important to show up in a way that feels true to you. In a way that works for you. In a way that makes it easy to keep showing up.
You might not get as much attention as you would, compared to when you use shortcuts and tricks.
But you’ll build meaningful connections with the right people over time. Slowly, but surely.
The kind of people that make showing up more worth it.
