For a very long time, I thought to be confident meant to be fearless.
At some point, it also looked like you had to be born with it.
I was working on a project and I learned that confidence means acting regardless of fear, not the absence of it.
I also learned that it builds up by taking little actions. You don’t have to be born with it.
That freed me from a lot of fears that I had around taking action when it comes to marketing.
I learned that I could still do it scared. And the tiny actions here and there are all that is needed.
I’ve been getting a lot of positive feedback lately and I’m so grateful for it.
I’m learning to be detached from outcomes, and regardless, I find it super helpful when people give kind feedback about my work.
It makes me happy to know that my work made a difference.
And to think that fear held me back from showing up for a long time.
Well, now is here.
And whatever is happening right now is all that matters right now.
I’m grateful to God that unlike before, I’ve become more confident. Although I call mine Godfidence.
Because yet not I, but Him.
It’s been so easy to show up and do the work that matters because I believe His strength is made perfect in weakness, just as the Scripture says.
So I don’t have to pretend to be strong, or that I have it all figured out, to do what’s necessary.
We can make a difference, even when we feel like we’re still a work in progress.
